"This is MINE" or is it?

We human beings can send ourselves to the moon, but we still cannot eliminate the horrors of a concentration camp or the need of prisons.

We spend billions and billions of dollars to eliminate the disease that kill us, but we pay little attention to routing out the motivations that cause us to kill each other.

For thousands of years we human beings have been unable to liberate ourselves from fear!

Why?

Because we cannot rid ourselves of hatred, discrimination, selfishness, and desire.

But why can we not eliminate these evils that almost everyone knows are destructive?

The answer is that we human beings have such a great desire to possess.

I believe the answer is simpler than that, Betty.

Human beings are either inherently good with a few evil tendencies

or

human beings are inherently evil with a few good tendencies.

I believe the latter is true. Things like selfishness, laziness, and greed are inherent in the human system, As long as those exist, there will be evil humans who do evil things.

Can we improve? I would like to think so, but honestly, I don't.

Uh oh, we may have to do that he said/she said thing after all, doc. (g)

I really want to believe that most people are inherently good. Evil tendencies can prevail, yes, but if more people were inherently evil, don't you think there would be more serial killers, etc?

I never, ever subscribed to that "born sinners" belief. I believe we all start out good and are taught evil.
